Digital Marketing/Social Media Internship

Position Overview:

    • Netcom learning is hiring marketing intern to assist with our marketing efforts. This internship is an unpaid position with the food and traveling stipend. However, this internship can turn into a paid position based on performance.
    • If you're hard working, want to get your hands dirty and take on responsibilities right away, if you want a "crash course" in how real Social media/ PR/marketing works in-house and want to learn how to make calls and write pitches, then this is the position for you.
    • The perfect candidate will have some social media/pr industry and MUST be savvy writer. If you know what SEO stands for, you are already ahead of the game.
    • Some of the daily tasks you might be responsible for include:
      • Managing social media campaign
      • Writing and sending press releases
      • Learning how to write a pitch
      • Blogging
      • Pitching ideas via phone/email to prospective editors
      • Creating a guerrilla pr event
      • Learn how to use the latest PR tools
      • Creating profiles and pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
      • Uploading videos, photo albums, etc.
      • Increasing follows/friends who like our business
      • Writing and posting blog posts/tweets/updates, etc.
      • Tracking the growth and the impact of social media on our business
      • Replying to comments, messages, etc.
      • Report findings to the team
      • Consistently learn and grow, ask pertinent questions
      • Ability create and upload Twitter & YouTube backgrounds, and minor video editing skills are a plus

Position Minimal Qualifications:

Skills and attributes interns are expected to have:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
    • Be creative with an eye for design
    • Ability to develop a detailed and professional marketing plan
    • Knowledge of digital media software -- Photoshop or other graphic design software, etc. is preferred
    • Knowledge of video editing software -- iMovie, Final Cut, or Windows Live Movie Maker is a plus
    • Knowledge of social media -- Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.
    • Willingness to create video blogs, write press releases, and linkedin Facebook posts daily
    • A desire to create fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence
    • Ability to identify a target market and "speak" to that consumer through social media
    • Experience proofreading and editing
    • Ability to contribute individually, and participate in cross-functional teams

Salary Range:

Marketing internship: Travel and lunch stipend will be provided.
